The Jon Day Quartet performs everything from swing standards to modern jazz and original compositions. Led by trumpet player, pianists, composer, and arranger, Jon Day, this group performs in various jazz clubs, private venues, and festivals in upstate South Carolina.

Personnel:

Ethan Burkhardt - Bass
Bassist, Ethan Burkhardt is an Indiana native who relocated to the upstate after completing graduation in 2005 from Millikin University in Decatur, IL with a degree in Music Business. Burkhardt is the Vice President of bluegrass record label, Pinecastle Records in Columbus, NC and performs with the Hendersonville and Brevard, NC Orchestras as well as Horizon Church in Greenville, SC.

Tony Christopher - Drums
At an early age, Tony Christopher began showing his musical potential singing in an elementary school chorus and studying viola, drums, and percussion. Continuing on with his love for drums and percussion, Tony performed with a wide variety of groups including school bands, drumlines, marching bands, church orchestras, jazz ensembles, rock bands, and symphonic orchestras. During this time, he was also a member of the prestigious Carolina Youth Symphony under the direction of Dr. Robert Chesebro.

After completing his studies at Greenville Technical College where he earned a degree in Myo-Therapy, Tony continued on with his music studies at the University of North Greenville. He is currently enrolled in graduate studies (percussion major) at the Atlanta Institute of Music. In addition to freelance performing and studio work in the Greenville area, Tony is also a resident instructor at Eastside Guitars and Drums in Greenville.
 
Troy House - Guitar, Saxophone, Flute
Jazz Guitarist Troy House was introduced to music when he was very young. His first experience in jazz was at the age of eleven in his middle school’s jazz band. In High School he participated in All-State Jazz Band and was accepted to the New England Conservatory, North Texas University, and The New School. After studying two years at The New School Jazz and Contemporary Program in NYC, he left school to pursue a career in music. Troy now performs several times a week in the southeast area and is in charge of booking at High Cotton in downtown Greenville, South Carolina.
