Inspired by the medium sized jazz ensembles of Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Gerry Mulligan, Shorty Rogers, Rob McConnell, Oliver Nelson, Charles Mingus, Wynton Marsalis and others, Octagone brings together the best of two musical worlds: tight-knit ensemble arrangements as performed by Calgary’s finest small group jazz improvisers. Featuring a diverse program of jazz standards, bebop arrangements and original compositions Octagone delivers dynamic soloists while at the same time featuring a unique ensemble sound.
